The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner
This is a registered nurse who can perform a
medical-legal examination of sexual assault victims.
The Nurse Examiner is trained in:
• Evidence collection and forensic techniques.
• Sexual assault trauma response and injury assessment.
• Expert witness testimony.
• Treating sexually transmitted infection.
• Pregnancy evaluation and prevention. The Nurse Examiner will consult with a physician
when needed.
