Healing

In Schools
We offer several education and awareness programs for elementary, middle, high school and college students. These presentations teach students about personal safety, assertiveness, inappropriate behaviors and how to recognize the early warning signs of sexual assault/abuse. Children are also told what to do if they are, or know, a victim. Topics range from safe and unsafe touches, problem solving and assertiveness skills, appropriate boundaries, sexual harassment, sexual abuse, relationship violence, date/acquaintance rape and sexual assault. Because sexual abuse cannot happen without some amount of secrecy and isolation, young children are told about the differences between good and bad secrets, and are encouraged to discuss these topics with their parents and other trusted adults.
