What Medical Advocates Do Our Medical Advocates are specially trained volunteers who:
Provide support throughout the entire forensic
exam if the victim wishes.
Protect the victim’s rights and interests as well
as provide information.
Can help with safety planning.
Research shows that survivors who have an advocate during
primary care are more likely to have positive feelings about their
experience in the hospital.
