Are your eyes open?

One in 4 girls and one in 6 boys are sexually abused before their 18th birthday.

The Sexual Assault Crisis Center was awarded a grant from The Child Abuse Prevention Fund of Children's Hospital and Health System for Awareness to Action, a state-wide initiative focused on child sexual abuse prevention. The community-wide pilot program will be implemented to:

  • Raise awareness in the community for adults to take responsibility in the fight against child sexual abuse.
  • Educate and train youth serving agencies to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse, and motivate them to courageous action using the CDC-approved Stewards of Children curriculum.
  • Empower youth serving agencies to improve their internal policies, procedures and training to keep children safe from sexual harm.
Open your eyes to child sexual abuse. Call the Sexual Assault Crisis Center at 920-733-8119 now to schedule an "Eyes Open" Stewards of Children presentation.

How can I make my organization a safe place for children?

It is vital that organizations create a culture where child sexual abuse is discussed, addressed, and prevented. If your organization serves children, a sex offender will want to work for you.

Some organizations feel they lack the money, time, personnel and expertise to create a comprehensive child sexual abuse prevention plan. The fact is many strategies cost little or nothing implement. Committed volunteers understand the need to protect the children you serve.
